He was born in 1935, which means that he’s 86 year old.

After his death, Beijing would lead a reincarnation ritual to locate the next Dalai Lama, and it will out of the current Dalai Lama’s control.

He got panic once, and appointed his reincarnated boy. Please be noticed that he was and still is alive, therefore is not able to reincarnate.

He has been looking for a way to solve the problem. He announced that his reincarnated boy will for sure be outside of PR China.

However, I don’t think Beijing gives a damn. They will start reincarnation ritual once he’s dead, and this will satisfy some of Dalai Lama’s followers in Tibet.

BTW: It was my ancestor, the emperor of Qing Empire who set the rules for Tibetan living Buddhas’ reincarnation. I am Manchu, the emperor of Qing empire is literally my ancestor.

Besides all the procedures, the most important rule is that the result of searching for reincarnated boy must be recognized by central government in Beijing, and the central government has the power to forbid a living Buddha from reincarnating.

I am sure that Dalai Lama is trying to fix all the problems before he passes away. Saying him having no intention to split Tibet may be one of the attempt, but again I don’t think Beijing gives a damn.

He’s 86 years old, how much more time could he have? Just wait till he died, and most of the issue will be solved.
